An INSTITUTIONAL MEMBER of The Foundation ia a singular academic, or administrative, or research, or service sub-unit [ EXAMPLES: Pathology Dept., Toxicology Dept., Teratology Dept., Aquatic Medicine Dept., Comparative Medicine Dept., Comparative Pathology Dept., Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory, Laboratory Animal Medicine Dept., Zoo or Aquarium Veterinary Service ] of an academic institution, or non-profit research or training institution, or governmental institution, or zoo, or aquarium, which pays an annual subscription fee of $300 (U.S.) to the REVIEW PROGRAM OF VETERINARY & COMPARATIVE PATHOLOGY of The Charles Louis Davis, D.V.M. Foundation.
For this annual fee the Department Head is entitled to:
1. Designate up to a maximum of 8 individuals on his/her staff, who are engaged in the formal or informal study, practice, or teaching of veterinary or comparative pathology or related scientific disciplines (toxicology, teratology, parasitology, clinical medicine, clinical chemistry, bacteriology, zoology, biology, nutrition, surgery) as AFFILIATE MEMBERS of The Foundation.
2. Receive a subscription to the monthly NEWSLETTER of The Foundation.
3. Receive a copy of the ANNUAL REPORT of The Foundation.
4. Receive a copy of the annual MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY of The Foundation.
5. Receive a copy of the annual CATALOG OF TRAINING AIDS published by The Foundation.
6. Receive all entitlements of an INDIVIDUAL MEMBER of The Foundation.
7. VOTE in elections carried out by The Foundation.
8. Serve as an OFFICER OF THE FOUNDATION upon appointment by The International Advisory Board of The Foundation.

The Department which holds the INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERSHIP is entitled to:
1. Receive a free issue of the current year's SPECIAL VIDEOTUTORIALS prepared for Institutional Members. Each year, the issue is separated into 3 categories, for 1996
ZOOS & AQUARIA, which are Institutional Members, may select either a T160 tutorial on ZOO PATHOLOGY & THE DISEASES OF REPTILES & AMPHIBIANS by Dr. Tracey S. McNamara of The Wildlife Conservation Society, or a T160 videotutorial on CURRENT MANAGEMENT AND PRODUCTION OF FISH & THE PATHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF THE INFLAMMATORY PROCESS IN FISH by Dr. Stephen Raverty of The Wildlife Conservation Society.
The series also contains 2 lectures by Dr. John J. Andrews, of Iowa State University entitled:
INSTITUTIONS OTHER THAN ZOOS, AQUARIA & VETERINARY SCHOOLS, which are Institutional Members may select one of the following sets ( 3 T60 videotutorials per set): FISH PATHOLOGY by Dr. Stephen Raverty, Willife Conservation Society; or DISEASES OF RATS by Dr. Paul C. Stromberg, The Ohio State University; or DISEASES OF RUMINANTS by Dr. Roger J. Panciera, Oklahoma State University; or DISEASES OF THE HORSE by Dr. Helen Acland, University of Pennsylvania;
These videotutorials are recorded in the color video system specified by the Department Head of the Institutional Member [ 3.58 NTSC, M-PAL, PAL, N-PAL, MESECAM or SECAM ].
2. Obtain, by making the prescribed contributions to the Training Aids Fund of The Foundation, any of the past year's issues of the special videotutorials distributed to Institutional Members as well as videotutorials listed in The Foundation's 1996 Catalog of Videotutorials, as published elsewhere in the Homepage of The Foundation.
3. Upon approval by the Program Director of the Correspondence Division of The Foundation,serve as a STUDY SITE of the CORRESPONDENCE DIVISION and receive the monthly loan of a study set, as described elsewhere in the Homepage of The Foundation.
4. Upon approval of the Institutional Member's official invitation by the International Advisory Board of The Foundation:
a.) Serve as the SITE and COSPONSOR of an annual SYMPOSIA ON VETERINARY & COMPARATIVE PATHOLOGY, presented by the Continuing Education Section of the North American Division of The Foundation.
b.) Serve as the SITE and COSPONSOR of one of The Foundation's annual SYMPOSIA ON VETERINARY & COMPARATIVE PATHOLOGY, either in Europe, Africa, Australia/New Zealand, or the Caribbean.
c.) Serve as the SITE and COSPONSOR of one of the periodic programs on PHOTOMICROGRAPHY & PHOTOGRAPHY OF GROSS SPECIMENS, offered by The Foundation's SPECIAL SUBJECTS DIVISION, either in North America, Europe, Africa, Australia/New Zealand, or the Caribbean.
d.) Serve as the SITE and CUSTODIAN of an INDEPENDENT STUDY CENTER of The Foundation, as described elsewhere in the Homepage of The Foundation.
e.) Serve as a TRAINING SITE for The Foundation's VETERINARY STUDENT EXTERNSHIP PROGRAM, as described elsewhere in the Homepage of The Foundation. The externs may come from Veterinary Schools which are Institutional Members of The Foundation in countries other than the United States of America, but to date the training sites used in The Program have been located in the United States. So far the externs have come not only from the U.S.A., but also from the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, and Romania.
f.) Serve as a FINANCIAL SPONSOR of one or more of the videotutorials or CD-ROM fascicles being produced and distributed to the Departments of Veterinary Pathology of each Veterinary School in the world by The Foundation in cosponsorship with the Departent of Veterinary Pathology of The Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, The Registry of Veterinary Pathology at The AFIP, and The Registry of Comparative Pathology at The AFIP. This WORLDWIDE CURRICULUM ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM is described elsewhere in the Homepage of The Foundation.

INSTITUTIONAL AFFILIATE MEMBERS designated by the Department Head are entitled to:
1. Receive a subscription to the monthly newsletter.
2. Receive the annual membership directory.
3. Receivesa copy of the annual report.
4. Receive all special mailings of the Geographic Division of The Foundation, in which they reside.
5. Receive all program announcements.
6. Attend all free lectures presented by the Geographic Division in which they reside.
7. Use the facilities and study materials of any Independent Study Center of The Foundation, as described elsewhere in the Homepage.
8. Use the study materials at the Study Site of the Correspondence Division of The Foundation, which is nearest to their site of residence.
9. Attend the annual Foundation awards reception, which is held in conjunction with th annual meeting of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists.
10. Obtain, by making the prescribed contributions to the Training Aids Fund of The Foundation, any of the videotutorials, or other training aids, listed in the current annual catalog of such publications, which appears elsewhere in this Homepage.
11. Obtain, by making a dedicated contribution of $50 to the Veterinary Student Externship Fund of The Foundation, an embroidered Foundation Blazer Patch, similar in color and design to the logo displayed on the title page of this Homepage
12. Serve as an Officer of the Foundation, upon appointment by the International Advisory Board.
13. Serve as a Member of the Faculty of Discussants, upon selection by the Faculty Review & Selection Committee of The Foundation and subsequent appointment by the International Advisory Board.
